Alex Drummond, Captain comes from a Naval family. He gained boat building qualifications and has been sailing professionally since 1985. His first command was in the Caribbean at the age of 21, and since then he has extensively covered the North Atlantic Circuits. Alex held the position of Captain on the owner’s last yacht and was fully involved with the build of Bare Necessities. Alex is qualified as a Captain allowing command up to 3,000 tons. |

Andrew Cull Mate / Engineer. Ex Army and Fireman, Andrew has sailed with Alex for over twenty years. Before joining Bare Necessities full time, Andrew worked on the larger Sunseeker projects for 14 years. He has transatlantic experience and is a qualified Yacht master. He owns his own classic yacht which he sails with his young family. |

Caroline McCarthy is the most recent addition to our team. She comes from a background of accountancy in the City. Caroline began sailing professionally only a few years ago and already accumulated over 16,000 miles. She is qualified through the RYA and has experienced both the North and South Atlantic, European waters, the African coast and the Caribbean. Caroline also enjoys racing, is a fantastic cook, and keeps us under control. When not sailing she loves her piano and enjoys teaching music |

Tom Marsh joined Bare Necessities mid 2007. Before that Tom was training the crews for the Clipper 05/06 Round the World Race and then skippered the Ex America’s Cup 12m France 3 for Corporate charters in the olent. Tom not only qualified through the UKSA, but then remained there as part of their training team. He is now working towards his Officer of the Watch qualification. |
