Luxury Yacht Hire with George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon

When the cast of Ocean’s Thirteen opted for a luxury yacht hire to host a private party in Cannes, it was bound to be talk of the town.

When a party costs up to £100,000 a ticket you’re going to expect it to be incredible. But when the guest list is headed by the star cast of Ocean’s Thirteen, who took out a luxury yacht hire in Cannes for the event, you know it’s going to be one heck of a party.

Even when you’ve hired out a luxurious yacht and have some of the top names in Hollywood in attendance, £10,000 is pretty steep. But the party was a charity gig the stars organised to raise money and awareness for the plight in Darfur.

As well as the luxury yacht hire, the party also featured a music student, 18 year old Victoria Hart. The student was spotted by the party organisers and asked to board the luxury yacht to sing for the exclusive guests. Victoria, whose day job is waiting tables, sang for George, Brad and Angelina at the exclusive luxury yacht party fulfilling every teenage girl’s fantasy. Victoria was quoted on her MySpace site as saying: “I had my very own room on a yacht with a swimming pool and a crew of 18 that live on the boat permanently.”

Making Waves

But the real reason the stars of the movie hosted such a lavish party, with luxury yacht hire, exclusive guests, indulgent food and copious bottles of champagne, was to raise awareness. The cast members used the private yacht party to promote Not on Our Watch – a charity designed to combat genocide. It’s estimated that 200,000 people have been killed in Darfur since 2003, with over two million people displaced.

The luxury yacht was hired to raise money for the Sudanese refugees and Clooney said they chose the French Riviera in Cannes because of the international publicity and attention the acclaimed film festival generates.

It’s all for Charity

But luxury yachts in Cannes are the only way for the stars to travel, and in a separate charity event at the film festival, Clooney helped raise money for AIDS research alongside Sharon Stone and Kylie Minogue. Clooney, alongside other stars from Ocean’s Thirteen helped auction off a luxury yacht hire vacation for the grand total of $700,000.
