Alex Drummond

Alex Drummond held the position of Captain on the owner's last yacht. He has been Captain of Bare Necessities since launch and was fully involved throughout her build.

Alex comes from a Naval family. As a child most weekends and holidays were spent sailing the family yacht. At 18 he moved to Falmouth to gain boat building qualifications and has been sailing professionally since 1985.  His first full command was in the Caribbean at the age of 21, and since then he has extensively covered the North Atlantic Circuits.

Alex is qualified as a Captain, allowing command up to 3,000 tons and holds Pilot exemption certificate for both Cowes and Southampton Many attributes include his tireless energy and enthusiasm along with exceptional standards.
